I had a fantastic day last week with Lorraine and Andrew whose wedding is fast approaching. Like the majority of couples who book me they decided to take up the complimentary engagement shoot and I think they have some great pictures from our afternoon in Backhouse Park in Sunderland.
A pre-wedding shoot is always a good idea (especially if it’s free), because it helps couples get used to being in front of the camera. Not only that, you get some lovely photos of the two of you.
Shooting in early summer is fab; there’s some lush greenery around, the flowers are blooming and there’s far less chance of rain (although it is Britain so we can never be too sure). Backhouse park was a good choice of venue for Lorraine and Andrew because it ticked all these boxes. Local, relaxed and gorgeous. There is also the bonus that the trees diffuse a lot of the light giving more even tones across the pictures – if you’ll excuse me my nerdy moment.
Lorraine and Andrew quickly relaxed into the spirit of the afternoon and were fun, friendly and welcoming the whole way through. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in just a week’s time!
